In 1950s, the discovery of the molecular structure of DNA by Watson and Crick revolutionized biotechnology. Dr. James Watson and Dr. Francis Crick revealed the 3-D structure of the DNA in 1953.

We know that biotechnology mainly deals with various technique to manipulate the DNA for some useful product. It was in 1950, when the structure of DNA was solved. The discovery of double-helical structure of DNA by James Watson, Francis Crick and  Rosalind Franklin led to the revolution of biotechnology.
