30,944 rounded to the nearest ten thousands would be 40,000. Where the 3 is located in the first number would be the 10 thousands place.

30,944 rounded to the nearest ten thousands is 30,000. The reason why is because if you look at the thousands place, there is only a zero. The zero is lesser than three. So that is how I got my answer.
