if we substitute y by 3x - 4 in the second equation we get

4x + 3(3x-4) = 1 ⇒ 4x + 9x - 12 = 1 ⇒ 13x = 13 ⇒ x = 1

now ,we substitute x by 1 in the first equation

y = 3(1) - 4 = 3 - 4 = -1
