Answer:

width = 23cm

length = 7cm

Step-by-step explanation:

To solve this we have to make 2 equations that represents the problem

w = width

l = length

p = perimeter = 60cm

p = 2w + 2l

60 = 2w + 2l

w = 2 + 3l

we replace w with (2 + 3l) in the first equation

60 = 2w + 2l

60 = 2 (2 + 3l) + 2l

60 = 4 + 6l + 2l

60-4 = 6l + 2l

56 = 8l

56/8 = l

7cm = l

now we replace the value of l in the second equation

w = 2 + 3l

w = 2 + 3 (7)

w = 2 + 21

w = 23cm
