Discriminant and the number of real roots for this equation 9x2+12x+4=0

The discriminant is b^2-4ac
In this equation 9=a, 12=b, 4=c
Plugging into the formula
12^2-4(9)(4)=
144-324 =
-180 is the discriminant
Since the discriminant is a negative number there are no real roots
