Well first find the answer 12 + 36 = 48. Distributive property is a(b + c). One way to put numbers in this equation is to divided each number by two. 12/2 = 6 and 36/2 = 18. b=6 and c = 18 and a = 2.

2(6 + 18)
2(24)
=48
