Root of quadratic equation

Given the quadratic equation below;

X² + 2X (-6) = 0

x^2 + 2x - 6 = 0

Using the general formula

x = -2±√2²-4(1)(-6)/2(1)

x = -2±√4+24/2

x = -2±√28/2

x =  -2±2√7/2

x = -1±√7

Hence the two values that serves as the root of the equation are  -1-√7 and  -1+√7
