Wealth:

Americans are usually hungry for wealth. Money means a lot to Americans. Partly because of culture and society. Entertainment usually glamorizes wealth and it may appear that wealthy people are more happy or fortunate.

Poverty: In America poverty is usually viewed as not normal or something to be pitied. Many people feel sorry for poor people and might help them by giving them food, shelter, clothes, or volunteering.
