The answer is A because they could be two seperate sentances

Okay, so a compound sentence Is two sentences put together. so A would be the answer because it can be split. EX:  Erin and Maria are going to the mall. John is going to the movies.
The rest of the sentences can be broken apart, yet they wont make sense.
