What is the x-intercept of the line with the equation -2x+1/2y=18

The x-intercept is a point on the x-axis.
y=0 at every point on the x-axis.

                                       -2x + 1/2(0) = 18

                                       -2x              =  18

Divide each side by  -2 :    x = -9
