The answer is Ira Gershwin. He was an American lyricist who teamed up with his more youthful sibling, author George Gershwin, to make the absolute most important melodies of the twentieth century.  With George he composed in excess of twelve Broadway appears, highlighting melodies, for example, "I Got Rhythm", and "Embraceable You".
